A team of specialists from the company IBM detected a vulnerability in the Dropbox SDK for Android. This flaw allows hackers to connect applications from any device with the Google operating system to a Dropbox account controlled by them, without the knowledge or authorization of the victim.
According to IBM, the vulnerability lies in the Dropbox software development kit (SDK), a group of tools that Android provides to companies to adapt their applications to the operating system.
IBM specialists point out that hackers can access stored information in two ways: using a malicious app installed on the user’s device, or remotely, applying “drive-by” techniques (downloads that occur without the user being aware of it). bill).
