For a long time we have been able to add the physical location to each of our tweets. And although it can sometimes be useful for consciously wanting to add them, many times we attach them because we forgot to deactivate that button on our mobile clients. The numbers speak for themselves: less than 1% of tweets contain geographic metadata.
Although the tweets are not geolocated, it does not imply that it cannot be known from where they were sent. A team of IBM researchers based in Almadén (California) has announced the development of an algorithm that allows knowing the city of origin of a Twitter user with 70% accuracy. And it is only necessary to analyze the last 200 tweets of an account.
via IBM it can know where you live thanks to your tweets.
