HP began to show its interest in 3D printing last month, when its CTO Martin Fink said that he expected the manufacturer to start working in this sector by the end of the year.
“HP is exploring the many possibilities of 3D printing and the company will play an important role in its development,” wrote Fink.
However, this does not mean that anyone can buy an HP 3D printer on the Media Markt or Amazon before the end of the year. With HP focusing on the enterprise market and with the home printer market spread out among several competitors, the Palo Alto manufacturer’s massive landing in home 3D printing doesn’t make much sense, especially considering the price and associated costs.
via HP plans to enter the 3D printing market in June.
