This weekend the DARPA Robotics Challenge (Robotics Challenge Trials) was held in which 16 robots – mostly American – competed to better perform eight different types of tasks such as removing debris, climbing stairs, opening doors, etc. .
The competition was organized by the US Defense Advanced Projects Agency (DARPA), and the winner turned out to be the S-One robot, created by the Japanese company SCHAFT which was recently revealed to have been secretly bought by Google a few months ago. .
The S-One is a bipedal robot weighing 95 kilograms that with its 27 points obtained in the tests managed to comfortably stand out above all other competitors such as robots from NASA, Boston Dynamics, MIT, etc.
