In addition to Android tablets and phones it will soon also be on the wrist. Google announced on Tuesday a new version of its mobile operating system called Android Wear and intended for those known as “smart watches.” This same system will be used in the future in other “wearable” technology products and accessories.
Google will not manufacture these watches nor will it initially have its own model in its catalog. Instead, it will be supported by various consumer electronics companies such as LG, Motorola, Asus, HTC or Samsung, which plan to launch in the coming months. Traditional watch brands, such as Fossil, also plan to join the initiative.
