Tablets are getting their own dose of fierce competition, in the form of smartphones with ever-larger screens capable of stealing prominence and market share.
This is reflected in the numbers published by the consultancy DisplaySearch, where a decrease in the impact of quarterly sales of tablets is observed for the first time compared to the numbers of the same quarter of the previous year.
While in Q1 3013 there was talk of a total of 58.97 million tablets distributed worldwide, a year later the sector stands above 56.26 million, which represents a drop of 4.6%.
