Cadillac will offer an automated car guidance system, dubbed SuperCruise, which will allow the driver to become a passenger by taking the worry out of driving the vehicle.
Steering wheel and brake and acceleration pedals will be controlled automatically by the system, in a similar way to how some other vehicles (for example the high-end Mercedes) are already able to offer although limited to congested traffic conditions, which allows during traffic jams or very dense traffic and at low speeds, the car is able to accelerate and brake depending on the progress of the traffic while maintaining the distance with the vehicle that precedes it. In the case of SuperCruiser, the maximum speed that the Cadillac that rides it could reach would be up to 100 km / h.
Another system that will also appear soon will be the communication between vehicles (V2V) to facilitate warnings in case of emergency, accidents or traffic incidents (retentions, works …). This V2V system will debut in the Cadillac CTS Sedan that will appear in late 2016.
via General Motors will present in 2017 a Cadillac capable of driving without the driver holding the steering wheel – The Inquirer ES.
