The South Korean firm has officially announced the launch of a smaller version of the smartphone, as it happened with previous versions such as the Galaxy S4. The terminal, available from the beginning of July in Russia and “later” internationally, will have a screen size of Super Amoled technology of 4.5 inches (the Galaxy S5 goes up to 5.1 inches), with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels (very far from the 1,920 and 1,080 pixels of the top model).
In addition, it mounts an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2.1 megapixel front camera, designed for video calls and selfies (“selfies”, by its Anglo-Saxon name).
One of the great differences with respect to the star model of the South Korean is inside. The processor is a Quad Core with four cores that would reach up to 1.4 Ghz, figures far removed from the Snapdragon 801 quad-core chip at a speed of 2.5 GHz offered by the Galaxy S5, and would offer a RAM memory of 1.5 GB (for that of 2 GB from the top one). How could it be otherwise, all its machinery will move with the Android 4.2.2 KitKat operating system, this being the same version that its older brother uses.
