Despite the fact that Facebook has been blocked in China since 2009, the vice president of the social network, Vaughan Smith, revealed today in Beijing that Facebook has businesses in the country that “grow very quickly.”
This is because the social network is helping Chinese companies reach their audiences outside the country, as well as because it is working with various developers to deliver content to the social network. According to Smith:
We have a very fast growing business in China helping exporters to connect with their customers around the world. We have 1.3 billion people on Facebook and it turns out that advertising for those people from China works quite well.
via Facebook is growing rapidly in China despite being blocked for 5 years – FayerWayer.
