A Syrian hacker group has hit PayPal and eBay websites in the UK over the weekend.
The attack has been attributed to the Syrian Electronic Army EAE that had provided evidence on Twitter of having penetrated Paypal’s internal communications, although the account on the microblogging network has been automatically suspended, as indicated by ZDNet.
PayPal confirmed the security flaw but noted that the issue was limited to referral to marketing pages in the UK, France and India, without compromising user data, and that it had been resolved.
