The National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) granted concessions for the development of the 4G network to the companies Telefónica, Cantv-Movilnet and Directv, informed the president of that organization William Castillo.
Castillo specified that the plan is to start the development of this technology, also known as wireless broadband, in the next five years to reach 80% of the population with its services in that period.
Castillo added that “by installing the new networks, data traffic will pass to it and there will be a significant improvement in voice traffic. We are going to have great speed, we are improving both voice and data. “
He said that the first cities incorporated to this new service will be seen in mid-2015.
