According to a survey carried out by the National Consulting Center of Colombia, regarding Friends’ Day that will take place next Saturday, March 14, only 6% of contacts on social networks are real friends.
According to the study, 90% of Colombians use social networks on a regular basis and on average each user in the country has 500 contacts, but really very few are friends. In fact, only 13% classify as friends and 6% percent as close friends. Although the survey also indicates that Colombians have on average only 4 true friends.
The study by the National Consulting Center also adds that 95% of Colombians who use social networks have a Facebook account, 85% use WhatsApp, 49% Messenger and 37% Twitter.
