Club Nintendo loyalty program closes

The company has reported that it will close its Club Nintendo loyalty program on September 30 after a decade with us. Club Nintendo makes us enjoy registering Japanese products. And, by registering them, we earn Stars, which can be exchanged for gifts in our Stars Catalog. The closing will be global. As of this date, all Club Nintendo services: signing up as a new member, logging in as a registered member, accumulating Stars and exchanging Stars for gifts from the Stars Catalog, will no longer be available.

Regulars to the system will surely miss it, but they will not have to regret it too much. The reason for the closure is none other than the opening of a new club that will see the light this year. The Japanese firm is already encouraging people to move, promising a free download of Flipnote Studio 3D for Nintendo 3DS systems to anyone who signs up during the launch period. It is a good publicity, and more considering that their next consoles, the New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL are expected in February.
