Recently the authorities of Beijing, capital of the People’s Republic of China, have arrested three of the creators and distributors of the Wirelurker malware that affects devices with Apple’s OS X and iOS operating systems, identifying the criminals only by their surnames; Wang, Lee and Chen, who have been detained pending a legal trial.
And it is that Wirelurker originated in the store of unofficial applications in China called Maiyadi, from where the affected users downloaded the packages with the malicious code, which according to the local authorities had been created to obtain economic benefits directed to its creators, in a plan that for now has been thwarted by this arrest.
