The intrusion of a drone into the airspace of a country is no joke. And less if you do it at an airport, where it can cause serious security problems … and less if you do it in China. The country yesterday deployed 1,200 soldiers and two fighters to tackle an unidentified or authorized drone that entered the airspace of Beijing airport. In the end it turned out to be a drone that only performed geo-mapping activities.
The drone, which had a wingspan of 2.3 meters, flew over the airport without prior notice or authorization. It was operated by three men from a local tech company, arrested after the incident. According to state media, they only carried out geographic data collection tasks.
via China it deploys troops and fighters to intercept an unauthorized drone.
