The Compañía Anónima Nacional Telefonos de Venezuela (Cantv), obtained dividends of 2,200 million bolivars in 2014, representing an increase of 10% compared to the previous year, reported its president and minister of University Education, Science and Technology, Manuel Fernández.
“Behind these numbers there are lives, families served, our compatriots in remote places of the country” said Fernández who also stressed that the public servants of the company are part of a people to whom they owe from a “strong” institutional framework to be able to guarantee profitability and economic sustainability and consolidate the socialist culture of the company.
After the Annual Assembly of the state telephone company, it was reported that the dividends for shareholders class “C” and “D” will be Bs 2.47, after deduction of the tax, and will be paid on March 30, 2015.
In 2014 Cantv registered an investment of 5,108 million bolivars, 65.9% more than what was achieved in 2013 when it stood at 3,078 million. Since the nationalization, the Operadora shows an investment history of 18,610 million bolivars, which means an increase of 355% compared to 2007. «In 8 years, Cantv had its best performance in financial terms, these figures are the reflection of the success of a government policy ”, assured the Minister.
Cantv, in the last fiscal year, contributed 5,161 million bolivars in taxes and reached profits in the order of 5,848 million bolivars, demonstrating once again that it continues to be one of the most profitable companies in the country, stated its president.
