BlackBerry knows this and that is why it has decided to sign a licensing agreement with Amazon to make more than 200,000 Android applications available to its users.
As of today, the Amazon Appstore is made up of 240,000 apps, including titles like Pinterest and games like Minecraft.
The software that until now was exclusively available to Amazon will be able to run on terminals governed by BlackBerry 10.3, a revision of BlackBerry 10 that will hit the market in the third quarter of this year. To this must be added the collection of applications that already exist in BlackBerry World.
On the other hand, the agreement with Amazon entails access to music and video services from its official market, but will imply the closure of the corresponding sections in BlackBerry World.
via BlackBerry will nurture its ecosystem with more than 200,000 Android apps.
