Kantar makes it clear that BlackBerry’s market share has fallen to minimum levels worldwide, losing even what little share it had left in countries such as Latin America, which until now had been one of the few countries where it retained a share of sizeable market. Specifically, the percentage of BlackBerry in Latin America has gone from 10% in Q4 2012 to 2.8% in Q4 2013, which leaves the US company with a minimal stake in that territory.
In the US, we found a 0.5% decrease (from 0.9% to 0.4%) in market share during the same period of time. In Europe (considering only the 5 main markets: Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Germany and France), the decline of BlackBerry has been 2.2%, going from 3.7% to 1.7% market share during 2013. In other words, in the two most important markets for the technology sector (Europe and the US), BlackBerry does not even have a 5% market share, which leaves the company in a very weak situation.
via BlackBerry loses ground in Latin America, its strongest market.
