On April 18, Microsoft will stop supporting Windows XP, which means that there will be no more patches, updates, or vulnerability fixes that can be discovered after that date. The antivirus firm Avast has come out today to criticize the decision of the Redmond, ensuring that ending support is “a big mistake, especially since Microsoft has not been very successful in transferring XP users to newer systems.”
According to company data, 23.6% of Windows users are still using XP, and that will cause problems across the industry.
