Audi was the first manufacturer to test its autonomous car on a long, conventional stretch of highway in Tampa, Florida, which has been designated by the state as a test bed for automated driving. At the moment the Audi prototype is not totally autonomous, but the tests carried out by the company called “Traffic Jam Pilot” only allow the car to be driven autonomously up to 40 miles per hour, requiring the pilot at higher speeds.
This system allows the vehicle to take over control of steering, braking and speed at speeds, as we say, of up to 40 miles per hour.
via Audi is already testing its autonomous car.
