Rewound, the application that turned your iPhone into an iPod Classic with a click wheel, was the sensation for a few days, as it allowed us to revive the nostalgia of one of the most iconic devices in modern Apple history. Unfortunately, the expectation did not last long, as the Cupertino people have removed it from the App Store today. However, his disappearance could be temporary.
Through a publication on Medium, those responsible for Rewound confirmed that Apple withdrew its proposal from the application store. As they explain, the main reason is that they copied the design of the music player and integrated it with an Apple service, referring to Apple Music. The company says that people could mistake the application for an official product. For their part, the developers argue that its interface was too basic and had no similarity to an Apple app. In addition, it was the users themselves who had to search for the iPod skins in external sources, Twitter being the main medium where those interested could get different skins for their player.
Undoubtedly, they thought that with this strategy they would not have problems with the regulations of the store. Despite the bad news, the creators of Rewound say they are looking for a way to save their app.
