“Apple SIM” is a SIM card pre-installed in the models with connectivity for cellular networks of the new iPad Air 2, whose function in Apple’s words would be “to give you the flexibility to choose between a variety of short-term price plans of certain carriers in United States and United Kingdom, so that every time you need it you can choose the price plan that best suits your needs without long-term commitments, and when you travel, you can also select the data plan of a local operator during the duration of your trip.
In other words, Apple launched a new tablet with a blank SIM card capable of using the networks of various carriers such as AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile in the US.
