Apple has reacted quickly to the discovery of the WireLurker ‘malware’ affecting Mac computers and iPhone and iPad devices, spread from a Mac application store in China. The company has blocked the responsible apps.
This infection works through Mac. Later, when connecting an iPad or iPhone, the mobile device also got infected. At that point, the virus would steal its guests’ data.
Apple has acted by blocking the source of the problem, as it said in a statement sent to The Wall Street Journal: “We are aware of malicious software available in an application store, targeting users in China, and we have blocked identified applications to prevent them from run ».
