The Japanese Casio developed an iPhone application that could be the first that allows searching for specific words in audio tracks by typing them on the mobile phone, EFE points out.
The Japanese electronic device firm works by converting typographically written terms in the search engine into sounds that can later be compared to well-defined patterns present in the original recording.
The application “offers a new way to study or improve efficiency at work,” the technology company said in a press release.
Known for its clocks and keyboards, the company believes that the potential of its application exceeds current speech recognition systems, whose searches are limited to previously registered words.
