Apple’s mobile operating system has displaced BlackBerry as the most secure platform. A report by the surveillance software provider Gamma Group, reflected by CNET, places iOS as the only operating system immune to spyware.
The firm used a piece of its spyware called FinSpy to determine whether various mobile platforms could withstand eavesdropping on phone calls, contacts, and other data.
Of the main mobile platforms mentioned in the document, all of them were susceptible to being attacked by FinSpy. Spyware is able to track devices running Android (all versions 2.xx to 4.4.x), BlackBerry (versions 5.x, 6.x, 7.x), Symbian and Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5 (FinSpy does not yet have support for Windows Phone 8).
In contrast, Apple’s mobile operating system is vulnerable, but only in jailbreak mode.
via iOS, the most secure mobile operating system against spyware.
