Ann Makosinski

The girl in the picture is named Ann Makosinski, and she is one of the finalists in the annual science fair organized by Google.

The system he uses is not new and is based on Peltier cells and they are capable of generating an electrical current thanks to the difference in temperature between two adjacent surfaces.

Makosinski’s credit is to have done the calculations to integrate several Peltier cells into a device with the ability to convert the heat from the hand into a current sufficient to power three white LEDs.
