When we watch a movie in 3D, we are seeing stereoscopic technology, which means that we see the movie from multiple angles, even though we always see the same image. The projector created by MIT works in multi-perspective. In other words, if we moved around the displayed image, we would see it from different angles, as if it were a hologram.
This new system uses two liquid crystal displays similar to the LCD screens on many televisions. Through a series of modulators, they give a total of eight viewing angles and our eyes do the rest to give the image perspective.
