53% of young people would entrust their savings to technology companies such as Google, Amazon or Facebook rather than to a bank, according to the Millennial Financial Knowledge MFK index prepared by the Spanish startup Keepunto, which shows that 76% of those surveyed do not trust current banks.
The conclusions of this index show that 70% of young people would trust a coin put into circulation by one of these technology companies. In addition, it reveals that seven out of ten young people have a “very negative” perception of banks and that half link the image of traditional banking to illicit and criminal behavior when defining with a single word what their work is.
