Two British companies use 3D printing to make the first metal frame for a bicycle. The use of aluminum helps make this frame much lighter and last longer.
The metal frame of this bike, made with Renishaw 3D printers, has been designed using a technique called ‘topological optimization’. The success of this process in the 3D printing of the bicycle would help it to be used more frequently in other types of industrial manufacturing.
via 3D Printing manages to create the first frame of a bicycle with titanium.
