More than 600,000 people have signed a petition on the website Change.org for the social network Snapchat to restore the original design of the application and cancel the update that launched last week. Among other modifications, the company has decided to separate “multimedia content” from “friends” in the new interface, which many of its users did not like.
With the latest update, Snapchat Stories (videos and photos that expire within 24 hours of posting) appear with individual snapshots and direct messages. The company also updated the application automatically without requesting permission, which has caused the loss of some messages or data saved on some devices.
“Many users have found that ‘the update’ has not made the application easier to use. It has made many functions difficult ”, heads the petition created by Australian Nick Rumsey. In fact, several have decided to install a VPN application (Virtual Private Network, or Virtual Private Network) on their devices that allows you to go back to the previous version.
